READ MOREThese are medicines we use to treat cancer. We use them mainly to shrink cancer growths or eliminate lingering cancer cells after surgery. We also use them to prevent more spreading of cancer cells in those with advanced cancer. They are mostly administered through a vein in the hospital. There are over 100 different types of chemo. They directly kill actively dividing cancer cells or stop them from dividing. These drugs may also harm normal cells and must be administered under the supervision of a trained oncologist. Different cancers are treated with different chemo drugs. Not all chemos have bad effects in the body
These are medicines we use to treat cancer. They are also given through the vein in the hospital. They do not kill cancer cells directly, but they boost and reenergise your immune system so that your own body attacks the cancer more effectively. These medicines are mainly used for advanced cancer and are expensive. Not all patients qualify for immunotherapy. Some tests need to be done to determine if you qualify. They may also interfere with your system causing your own body to damage itself. These medicines must be given under the strict supervision of an oncologist with experience in immunotherapy.
These are medicines we use to treat cancers. They work differently from regular chemotherapy and majority are in tablet or capsule form. They attack a very specific defect in the cells that are responsible for the cancer growth. Only the cells with a specific target are destroyed. They rarely harm normal cells, but they also have side effects mostly skin rash and diarrhea. Not all patients qualify for targeted therapy. These must only be prescribed by an oncologist trained in targeted therapy.
The consultation fee is Ksh.5000 only per session.
We offer medical oncology consultations, Chemotherapy, Immunotherapy, Targeted therapy, and personalized cancer screening.

In many cases, yes. Surgery is an often successful conventional treatment, as are radiotherapy (after or instead of surgery) and chemotherapy. So in some cases it works, and in other cases it does not. Your doctor will be able to explain whether the chance of it working in your own case is high, low, or in-between.
NHIF pays only for part of chemotherapy and other treatment like targeted therapy, and immunotherapy. It doesn’t cover consultation and drug.
